- צִיצָהf. (b. h.; preced. wds.) 1) flower, knob on the top of the central stem of the palm branch (Lulab). Y.Succ.III, beg.53c יבשה צִיצָתוֹ (ed. Krot., a. Asheri to Succ.III, beg. צִיצִיתוֹ; Asheri quotes a Var. יבשו הוצין) if the top of the branch is withered. 2) fringes. Gitt.56a שהיתה ציצתו נגררתוכ׳ the fringes of his cloak were dragged along on cushions. M. Kat. III, 4 תכלת לציצתו Y. ed. (Mish. a. Bab. ed. 19a לציציתו; Rabb. D. S. quotes לציצתו) the blue thread for his show-fringes.Kel.
